Professor James is Director of the Wolfson Hyperbaric Medicine Unit Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland,  UK. He lectured in Hyperbaric Medicine at Dundee University Medical School. He has lectured around the world and holds numerous appointments, is well known for his work on the Blood Brain Barrier which has particular relevance in addiction medicine. Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment has relevance for detoxification and repair of the brain, liver and other damaged organs due to substance misuse.

Professor James is an internationally known specialist in hyperbaric and diving medicine. He is medical consultant to 110 chambers in the UK originally treating multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and detox and addiction treatment at Castle Craig.
